Dr. Alison Westerkamm, Psy.D.
Dr. Alison Westerkamm earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology
from the University of Indianapolis. She holds a Master’s in Education and an Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology, from Indiana State University. Alison has worked in schools, early childhood programs, community mental health and hospital settings. With a background in psychological/psycho-educational evaluation and child development, Alison uses a multimodal, strengths-based paradigm in the assessment and treatment of children with behavioral and emotional concerns.
Alison is passionate about helping children, families and adults reach their full potential through integrative approaches that focus on the mind, body and spirit. As a humanistic psychologist, Alison relies on play therapy, cognitive-behavioral interventions, therapeutic books, art therapy, developmental/sensory based techniques and psychotherapy delivered with warmth, compassion and sensitivity to unique personal situations. She has experience working with ADHD, Developmental Delays, Autism Spectrum,
Depression, Anxiety, Adjustment Problems, and Learning Difficulties.
Alison has three fun-loving children that keep her busy. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising with her daughter, watching her sons’ baseball games, working in her yard, mowing and gardening and usually has her dog by her side.
